STARTING MONDAY, NOVEMBER 16th 2020, THE MUNICIPAL OFFICE WILL BE CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

The Clerk will be checking emails, phone messages and collecting the mail on a daily basis. The office will NOT be open to any members of the public.

Please continue to be kind to one another and be patient with people, health care providers, store clerks that are still working and anyone else in an industry that has to stay open through this pandemic.

As always, if you need to contact the Town Clerk, Donna Bohannon, you can reach her at 802-782-4510. Leave a message if she doesn’t answer and she WILL call you back.

The governor also ordered that bars and restaurants close for dine-in until April 6. (Delivery and takeout will continue.)

Outdoor recreation is permitted, provided people maintain six feet of physical distance between themselves and others with whom they do not share a household.

Vermont State Parks are open for day use, but off-season camping has been suspended.

The Lake Champlain ferry system is on a modified schedule with new rules.  Click here for more information.

Be safe. Be responsible. Be well.  Respectfully,    THE ALBURGH SELECTBOARD

If you or someone you know in Alburgh, needs food, medicine or other basic necessities but isn’t able to get out to get them or is worried about going out because of the corona virus, please contact the Town Clerks office and let them know. We have a list of people that are willing to help in this time of uncertainty.

The phone number that you can call is 802-796-3468 and you can speak with Town Clerk, Donna L. Bohannon or Assistant Town Clerk, Danielle Choiniere. If it is on the weekend or after hours, you can call Donna Bohannon at 802-782-4510, but leave a message if you get a voicemail (service can be difficult at her home). Your contact information will be relayed to someone that has offered to help and they will contact you about your needs. Stay healthy and don’t be too proud to ask for help, there are people willing to do just that: help.

Payments can be made via snail mail or can be placed in the dropbox located on the south side of the building. Payments can also be made via the town website; www.alburghvt.org with a credit or debit card. There is an additional fee associated with the use of a credit/debit card. Up to $113 there is a $3.00 fee and after $113 the fee is 2.65%.

There will also be changes to how the staff at the Transfer Station handles business. They will be asking that you remain in your vehicle and will handle the trash and other waste for you. They will collect the money from you while you remain in your vehicle. Please be cooperative and respectful as they continue to do an outstanding job while enforcing procedures designed to keep themselves and you as safe and healthy as possible.

The Corona virus has had a greater impact on our daily lives than any of us could have imagined, but with common sense and diligence, we can prevent it from growing more than it already has. Please do your part in preventing the spread of this new contagion by limiting your contact with others. You may not be at risk but there are many that are. People with heart or lung conditions and the elderly are at a greater risk and may suffer dire consequences if exposed.

Please be patient and understanding of the new procedures as we try to limit the spread of this contagion and above all else be considerate of one another and help a neighbor if you see they need it. Supporting one another and kindness will help neutralize the negative effects of this virus.
